Trek to the Holy Island of DEVAKOTA in the Hidden Land of Pemako, Arunachal Pradesh, India

INTRODUCTION
Pemako is one of the main hidden lands concealed like a terma treasure by Guru Rinpoche. It lies partly in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh in northeastern India, and partly in Tibet. It is the Mandala of Vajra Yogini. The Devakotta Mountain is a river island within Pemako with the river circling it like a horse shoe. This is one of the most significant holy sites of the hidden land and lies entirely in India. This pilgrimage is suitable for anyone who can trek 04 hours a day (on an average).

The significance and qualities of Devakota Mountain
Devakotta mountain is the clear – light realm of Dakinis and Deities of the Mother Tantra, inseparable from Dumatala in Uddiyana. It is the dwelling place of Chakrasamvara with his 725 accompanying deities, as Guhyasamaja and his retinue, where guardians and Dharma protectors, as numerous as stars in the sky, vigorously engage in Dharma activities.

Those of fortune who merely come to this place will experience spontaneous realization. By practising meditation here one can, in this lifetime, attain perfect Buddhahood, or upon reaching the bardo state, one can attain the Sambhoghakaya, the Enjoyment Body of complete Enlightenment. Beings such as hunters and butchers, who have committed heavy sins during their lifetimes, but have given rise to regret and begun purification in this holy place will be reborn to a stainless brahmin-like lineage. For whoever makes one complete circumambulation of the Devakotta Mountain, the door to all lower rebirths will be closed. The merit created here by prostrating, offering lights, performing rituals and so forth is equivalent to that accumulated by performing these virtuous activities billions of times elsewhere. The fruit of a month of practice in this earthly pure realm is equal to that of a year of practice in ordinary places. A single outer circumambulation of this holy place will bring ten million siddhis, while making thirteen circumambulation in one day will lead one directly to the transcendent state, beyond distinction of virtue and non-virtue.
It is Guru Padmasambhava’s vow that all explained herein is the infallible truth.
